Hey, everyone no doubt had an amazing fortnight off. I know I certainly had some, we'll go with, well, eye-opening in weird ways I guess.

And then we have the new term coming up. I've thought of some new plays and I'm looking forward to taking on Gryffindor and Slytherin, And I'm going to be taking you both more seriously than I did Hufflepuff.

And thanks to the one with the wide forehead an blonde hair. I will actually be in the Duelling competition that's coming up. Which really is an exercise in stupid, but hey, pretty sure I can make an impression, I always do.

Yeah, kind of wasn't interested in it.

Thor was implying I would be less of a wizard, and really. I could stand to knock him around some with a wand.

Yes, but you can do that without tournaments.

Yeah, but this will give me house points, instead of losing me them. Besides, even getting in the top two could make me more popular, and really that can never hurt.

Good, because we've seen them play, so we know the game they play. And I have plans for it.

Thor's fault. He forced my hand.

As a side note. I need to talk to you about something. It's going to probably be awkward for both of us. But hey, You wanted me to stop hiding things from you.

I didn't go through your trunk since before winter break, I haven't seen anything or done anything incriminating.

Okay, not what I wanted to talk to you about, but suddenly I feel the need to look through my trunk. Where are you right now?

No need to do that. I'm down in the library, some seventh year left out a book from the restricted section.

I'm entering to prove I'm an accomplished wizard.

There are plenty of great accomplished wizards who don't duel.

Duel regularly. Everyone duels at least once. And really, it's good for self defence.


So it's not like it's even a big deal or anything, I wont really get hurt. so It's fine.

Do you even need to comment that it's an exercise in stupid? That's usually a given with you and attempts to show off.

Better than how you show off. Sitting on your bed mumbling, 'I'll show them'.

I don't show off, and I don't mumble, I don't need to. There's nothing I have to compensate for.

Other than a complete and total inability to take charge.

But then, you probably couldn't handle the challenge of competitive magic casting. So of course you're going to say that.

Why make an impression for something that you think is 'stupid'?

I think a day without drinking coffee was stupid. But I spend most days here without that.

You can still do something you think is stupid. But then, I'm a competitive guy given the right nudge.

Not necessarily. You can be pretty tricky when you put your mind to it, so you're definitely right about making an impression.

... sometimes that impression just happens to be made when someone flings you against a wall.

Believe me, I don't need other people to fling me against walls. My experiments can do that easily enough.

But if someone puts me up against a wall, I can promise that I'll give them an impression of their own.
