Hey, everyone no doubt had an amazing fortnight off. I know I certainly had some, we'll go with, well, eye-opening in weird ways I guess.

And then we have the new term coming up. I've thought of some new plays and I'm looking forward to taking on Gryffindor and Slytherin, And I'm going to be taking you both more seriously than I did Hufflepuff.

And thanks to the one with the wide forehead an blonde hair. I will actually be in the Duelling competition that's coming up. Which really is an exercise in stupid, but hey, pretty sure I can make an impression, I always do.

Not necessarily. You can be pretty tricky when you put your mind to it, so you're definitely right about making an impression.

... sometimes that impression just happens to be made when someone flings you against a wall.

Believe me, I don't need other people to fling me against walls. My experiments can do that easily enough.

But if someone puts me up against a wall, I can promise that I'll give them an impression of their own.

So you're pretty confident about your odds in this thing, then?

I've seen the list of names. Really?

I'm the only genius in the bunch.

Because being a genius automatically makes you a good duelist?

[arrogantalloy]

I know spells kids my ages don't know yet, I can formulate plans faster and I see things other people wont see as fast as I do. Also I'm amazing at math, so trajectories, angles of incidence, and similar things give me an edge.

Duelling is all about smarts and getting the upper hand.

Well, when you put it like that, you might actually have a pretty good chance of succeeding. Good luck with it; no matter what happens, it'll probably be amusing to watch.

Still, might as well advise you to cool it on the cockiness. After all, I seem to recall someone talking up a big game before that last Quidditch match.

Well I've always enjoyed having a captive audience, so I really can't go out in the first round.

Everyone talks a big game before matches. Coraline would have got the snitch if it wasn't for that gust.

Well, here's hoping that there's no unexpected gusts of wind to throw you off in this tournament. Can't disappoint your audience, after all.

Nice try. But I don't spend much time being alone in bed at night.

Teddy bears don't count, y'know.

I'm not counting them. I prefer people in bed with me, they can cuddle back.

But unless you're counting whatever you get up to when you're on holiday, that just leaves your roommates.

They're not, that's why I said two out of Three.

Herbert can't stand me because I have actual talent.

Come to think of it, maybe I believe you. He does weird things for science sometimes.

Convenience, not science. Something he was working exploded over his bed, and my bed had engine parts on it, so we took over Bruce's bed.

Well I was already there.

Engine parts? Anybody who tries to explain what goes on in your House is in for a tough task.

Also what, exactly, were you already doing in Bruce's bed?
