Steadily, I'm falling under the idea that many people use the Doubling Charm to be cheap. Why would you duplicate your cup instead of just buying a second one? It's just going to decay over time. The origin of it is reasonable enough and I understand the practical and strategic uses, but from my studying, it seems most people misuse it. Maybe that's just "muggle" of me.

Also, after going over the duties and the time requirements, I'm thinking of becoming a prefect.

I think it's more of why would a Death Eater even bother. As well as being on school grounds. I think the level of repercussion isn't much to worry about.

Besides, standing up has to start somewhere, and for a 13 year old, making a stand on a magical practice seems pretty accurate. Smarter than taking one head on in battle as a fledgling.

Well, school's only as safe as the purebloods you study with permit it to be. If you think there wasn't a time when some reported to their parents on the things said and done within Hogwarts, you're very much fooling yourself. But that's all in the past.

You put a lot more credit on pure-bloods than they deserve. Just because a few snitched to their parents doesn't mean that I, or any other student, was less safe with the good pure-bloods, half-bloods, and muggle borns protecting the school and everyone here. Sure, it put us in more danger than if they hadn't, but so many people would work to protect us, those more aware of the goings of the war.

But as said, that's the past.

Met him, but obviously I don't know him well enough to understand his relevance to this conversation.

That's absolutely horrible. I don't understand how people can be so cruel I'm very sorry to hear that happened.

Such were the times. It's much more interesting now that things are a little freer of expression. Much easier to observe people are they truly are.

I would assume so. The absence of dire fear is freeing for a large part of the population.

Well, you can learn a lot about a person in their handling of dire fear but learning about muggle behaviors in general is much more accurate this way.

So, you're interested in muggle behavior?

Yes. Culturally they are fascinatingly different in ways they don't teach us in school.

Yeah, I lived my life as a muggle for nine years, the differences in cultures can be staggering at times,

I plan to better understand over the summer once I can mingle more through their cities.

Just expect everything to be complicated yet mildly "primitive" and you'll probably survive without too much trouble.
