Well, y'know! I can see it from your perspective, but coming from the perspective of being taken in by an uncle myself I don't really see what the big deal is.

I honestly don't think it's as common as you believe it is. Or at least I should hope it's not as common as it looks right now, since losing your parents kind of sucks. There's only been about--what--one or two cases of adoption? The rest of them just seem to be people realising that they're related to someone else and that's more due to guardians being dishonest than taking kids in.
