Prim saved up her allowance and bought this for me for my birthday. She thinks I should make some more friends and talk to people.

I might just use this to put all of my herbology information though, it's more practical that way. If people want to talk to me they can just find me and do it face to face.

So far I've just seen other girls crying about their make up disappearing and Dragon eggs, I hope it's not always like this.

The journals are a rather good way to keep in contact with the other students, for academic reasons as well as social. If you do not wish to socialize through this medium, perhaps think of it in that light?

Yeeeah, a lot of silly things happen on the journal network but it can be fun too. It's an interesting way to keep up with friends in other Houses.
The teachers post assignments in here as well! It makes it easy to ask them questions when you're clear on the other side of the castle.
