So am i to believe that this wild contraption actually allows me to communicate with magic-folk?
Im not entirely sure i believe it because it sounds so crazy but i do rather suppose i would like to!
If that is the case hello!
Im jake english and i suppose ill be attending school with you folks come september!
Im more than a little excited ive never actually been in contact with anyone my age that uses magic.
So its wonderful to meet you all!!

Well i suppose any form of technology will malfunction at any given moment given it is sort of fickle.
Glad i missed the ink splatters though that would have been terribly inconvenient when trying to introduce myself!

Yes, you lucked out.
It was a bit annoying, really. If it weren't for magic, my favourite shirt would've been ruined by ink.
I've read some of Hogwarts: A History and I've visited the school twice with my uncle, but I'm not sure if my knowledge of the school would be much different than what you know.

Magic has so many practical and daily uses i am going to thoroughly enjoy getting to learn how to properly utilize it.

Ive only ever heard stories, though i do have a rather extensive library of books on the subject.
Admittedly most of them are probably outdated.

I'm still learning about that stuff, but then again that's the point of going to school.
Maybe what you've learnt isn't that outdated at all.
Hogwarts is old, too, so even the antiquated information would have some degree of accuracy.

Muggle schools go through and update information every so many years and what with having been used to them i wasnt sure.
But maybe youre right!

Yeah. I'm used to that concept too, but there are places that actually look really out-dated in the castle anyway...
Notably the lack of electronic stuff. It's just really weird.

I must admit im quite excited.
I havent presently got anyone to send letters to but the idea is just splendid.
Not to say that the internet isnt just as splendid of course.

Yeah, I'm not really going to, either. Anyone who matters is going to be at school already.
It's just going to be weird to not use the internet. Or anything.
I use electronics all the time.
