Yes, this is a correct assertion, although sometimes these journals malfunction.
It wasn't long ago that it wouldn't allow anyone to write and it splattered ink everywhere.

Well i suppose any form of technology will malfunction at any given moment given it is sort of fickle.
Glad i missed the ink splatters though that would have been terribly inconvenient when trying to introduce myself!

Yes, you lucked out.
It was a bit annoying, really. If it weren't for magic, my favourite shirt would've been ruined by ink.
I've read some of Hogwarts: A History and I've visited the school twice with my uncle, but I'm not sure if my knowledge of the school would be much different than what you know.

Alas i should have specified! Perhaps not fairies but witches and wizards. More magic folk than i have previously dealt with at the least!

Yes! So far everyone I have met in our year seems to be exceptionally well mannered despite my expectations.
Father had led me to believe that Muggleborn folk are simply barbaric while they really do seem quite pleasant.

[It... takes him a good while to reply to this one. Jade? Ravenclaw? It's just like his grandmother. So much like, in fact, that he has to put the journal down and doublecheck that she was a Ravenclaw, and that Jade was actually her first name. Maybe it had just been a nickname...!]

[Even the font was correct. Jade always wrote in a bright, happy green and littered her notes with smiley faces and punctuation. Jake felt a little bit sick.]
