So am i to believe that this wild contraption actually allows me to communicate with magic-folk?
Im not entirely sure i believe it because it sounds so crazy but i do rather suppose i would like to!
If that is the case hello!
Im jake english and i suppose ill be attending school with you folks come september!
Im more than a little excited ive never actually been in contact with anyone my age that uses magic.
So its wonderful to meet you all!!

[It... takes him a good while to reply to this one. Jade? Ravenclaw? It's just like his grandmother. So much like, in fact, that he has to put the journal down and doublecheck that she was a Ravenclaw, and that Jade was actually her first name. Maybe it had just been a nickname...!]

[Even the font was correct. Jade always wrote in a bright, happy green and littered her notes with smiley faces and punctuation. Jake felt a little bit sick.]

Golly miss jade you bear a striking resemblance to a very dear family member of mine with the same name.
It is positively delightful to meet you!
(Also green is the best color.)
I do imagine we can be friends regardless of where i am sorted in september!!

What a funny coincidence!
Well no matter! Its clearly just some kind of strange coincidence. Perhaps its fate that weve met or something prophetic like that.
And i believe i have been told of this john character! By a one miss jane crocker.
And would you look at that! One switched letter and we could be the same person. Quite the coincidence indeed.

i used to have dreams about meeting john all the time!
i did not know what they meant, but then he became my best friend ever
and it turned out later that he is my twin brother!
i think then it must be fate that all of us cool-coloured jays have come together like this :)
