What the hell was all of that about? I get off work and come back to a whole bunch of nonsense on my journal! My younger sisters were just about to read that ridiculous entry; I just managed to grab it out of their hands. Are you lot trying to get me in trouble with my mum and dad!?

Do you think someone cast a spell on all of you? Like one of those three curses?

The Imperious curse, was it? The one where you get mind-controlled?

That's the one. I don't know.
But if it was that, why would they attack a group of schoolkids?
It doesn't make any sense.

Dunno, maybe some people just like hurting those who can't fight back. I've seen it happen before. Bullies, I mean.

If you think about it, what other better targets than a bunch of kids who can't protect themselves? Especially the first years. Do they even have their wands?

If you'd seen Madeline's bat-bogey hex you'd not be so sure that a bunch of kids can't protect themselves.

But defending themselves against the Imperious curse would take something more than a Protego. And it's a whole lot more sneaky to use someone to do their dirty work for them.

But we're all fine now.

[There's a long pause then, and Arthur's handwriting is even more spidery than usual when he writes again]

...maybe that trip to Mungo's doesn't seem such a bad idea.

Should we let the others know? Maybe tell your dad as well, if he works for the Ministry maybe they can do some investigating.

Sorry, sorry! It just slipped my mind.

[He still doesn't really understand, but after much glares, scoldings and hisses, he's conceded that it would just be insensitive of him to mention that name. Still, not even Muggles call Hitler "You-know-who", but that's a discussion for another day.]

But, if it is ~~Vol~~ "You-Know-Who"...I think we should tell someone.

...maybe we should try Dumbledore? He's always been pretty open to the students. He might take us seriously. He'd know how to handle this stuff.

Blimy Arthur, I'll admit I don't know a thing about relationships, but if he really, well, likes you, he could've shown it a whole lot better than all that horrible teasing he did!
