Everyone naming their goats is making me wonder something...

Do you ever wonder about your own names? Like...where they came from?

I mean, I'm Scottish, but my last name is French. And I don't even know what Xion is supposed to be. Sometimes I wonder what my parents were even thinking when they called me that.

I think I would prefer a unique name to a too-common one.

Can you not ask your parents why they named you Xion?

They're busy a lot. I don't see them much.

You have my envy. My father has an annoying habit of showing up out of nowhere.

School should be a nice break from that, I hope.

...I think that just means he cares about you. In a weird way.

But I do like being at school more than being at home.

I severely doubt that.

It is certainly different. There is hardly anywhere to be alone.

I know some places. Lots of places, actually. They're not very well-lit, though.

A simple lumos should take care of that.

Mostly I've been finding spots outside. I prefer the open air.

I like the open air, too. It feels too much like being confined sometimes when you're inside.

Yes, I am used to spending all my time outside. I don't see why lessons can't be held in a less stuffy environment. Perhaps they think we'll become distracted.

Maybe. Or get lost. I think it's easier to find a person when they're inside rather than outside.

So they are trying to confine us?

[faintwaves]

Definitely.

I think that's part of why I want to work with animals when I grow up. You don't have to be inside all day for that.

But animals are so sticky.

I've not decided what I want to do. Unless being some sort of wizard/scientist is an option.

Yes, they are.

But they don't complain as loudly or judge you like humans do.

And you know, even if a wizard/scientist isn't an option yet, that just means you can pioneer the field of magical science, I think.

They may just be judging you in animal language. Likely as either something to eat or rut with.

I do like the sound of 'magical science.' I suppose we'll see.
