Setting aside Inquisitor Douchecanoe for the moment--and setting aside the fact that I don't know what a douchecanoe is supposed to be--what is this about dark magic? It seems to have been confirmed by several students and a professor from what I've seen, but I had not heard a thing about it before coming here.

Is it safe at Hogwarts?

I think the correct term is douchewaaffle.

And to answer your question, I'm fairly sure Hogwarts is relatively safe. The incident that may have involved dark magic happened at a summer camp.

I am afraid I'm not familiar with that term either.

I plan to be at Hogwarts over the holidays as well, so if it is less safe at those times--well, I would hate to ask my father to find me other suitable housing.

I think it would be just as safe here over the holidays, but I've always gone home, so I wouldn't know firsthand.

No, I don't believe so. I'm forming a good knowledge of people through the journals, but they can be overwhelming after a while.

My father only cares about money. There's no one on Earth that he loves, nothing else that he finds worthy but the pursuits of his own greed.

You'll probably meet him soon enough, seeing that you're in his year. But he is relatively easy to find on the journal network since he writes in purple. But then again, quite a few people are writing in purple right now. In any case, I think you'll probably get on well. He's very knowledgeable.

I'm sure he must love you though. Otherwise, he wouldn't have conceived you.

Dark magic is generally any sort of magic forbidden by the ministry because it involves a) the torture of another, be it mentally or physically, b) the enslavement of another, be it mentally or physically, or c) the taking of another's life. It includes, but is not limited to: blood magic, soul magic, psychomagics, and necromancy.

Such things are not taught, nor allowed at Hogwarts.

I feel like this guy has his own kind of agenda for this place. All that horse shit about him trying to cover up what happened at camp seems way too fucking fishy.

I'm sure he has an agenda, but I have no idea what it is. I just arrived at Hogwarts so I've been oblivious to any politics.

It seems awfully serious for the Ministry to be involved. That or he's using the Ministry's name to bluff.
