Why did I try out for the Quidditch team.
What genius persuaded me that would be a good idea.

I'm going to need a new broom.
Unless someone knows how to get rid of a particularly clingy Hurling Hex.
Actually I'd really appreciate it if someone did because I can't afford another bloody broom.

[Salman has already prepared the tea, Darjeeling tea that he got while he visited India this summer. He always brings back a massive amount since the tea they have in Hogwarts just isn't the same. He likes making his tea by hand, but the chapati is made with magic (he's still tweaking that spell).

When Arthur comes in, he'll be sitting on his bed, humming a song and reading a textbook.]

[Oh Salman how do you always know just the kind of tea he likes. Well, five years will do that. Arthur brings his own tea along to school but there's limited space in his trunk and he has so many other things to bring along as well...

So when he heads into the dorms and recognises the tea by scent alone, a grin quirks at his lips]

Now, this is the kind of celebration I can really get behind.

[When he hears Arthur's voice, he stops what he's doing, looks up, smile, and waves.]

Namaste, Arthur. Hopefully your day has been a good one. [He picks up his wand, using magic to pour the tea into cups.] I made the tea by hand as I still can't find a spell that does it just right. [And it takes only a flick of a wrist for the floating teacup to be in front of Arthur.] Please, grab the cup and sit beside me.

I think you're showing off just a tad, you know.

[But he does take the cup, and sits down with the other boy, taking a small sip of his tea]

And if you were making this by magic I might just refuse to drink it. That's verging on sacrilege.

It is not showing off when the intent is not to impressive, but do not worry, I will impress you with something even more marvelous in the future! [A few laughs and a big smile on his face.]

Spells can only do so much, and taking the time to make such things by hand brings it to another level. [he waves his wand so the other coup comes towards him, and with his other hand he takes it.] Maybe it's the fact you do it yourself because you care about every step of the process -- that's why I do it.

There are just some things that can't be accomplished by magic.

[He gives a small, mischievous smile and then sighs contentedly]

Rose would understand, I'm sure.. though I wouldn't be at all surprised if she's perfected the art of magical tea-brewing.

I can believe it, and having a spell handy is never a bad thing. I just prefer the old ways, I suppose. [He nods, starting to drink the tea. Ah, he enjoys these times where he can relax and have some peace and quiet. He stops drinking the tea to ask another question.]

How have you been? Was your summer enjoyable? Is Quidditch still on your mind?

It wasn't, but now it is.

[He grimaces, then shakes his head and smiles slightly]

I have to admit I'm nervous, but I'm certainly excited.

[he just gives a little nod, not wanting to linger on any bad thoughts or times.]

It is good to be nervous. It means you want to do well and you will work hard. [Salman gives him a pat on the back.] After all, our team is the best, and I bet our captain saw something very good in you. [and now he starts getting a sneaky look on his face.] And win or lose, I'll be cheering you from the bleachers.
