So... Has anyone else noticed some... uh, well, weird things going on, because um. There are some pretty weird things going on right now. Like a lot of weird things.

Right, anyway.

Why do we bake 'cookies' and cook bacon? I mean, come on, you think we could have named things better here.

French is the same way. A lot of the rules boil down to 'it just sounds better that way'.

What kind of science is that. A lot of our slang is horrid too.

I remember when the chavs were saying "pear'd" that one break.

Yeah, it was used when something unfortunate happened to someone else... I don't understand how it came to be.

What, like, something going pear-shaped? I think I've heard that phrase before.

... I haven't. I don't know, they used it to mock or tease people.

I've never heard it used like that, no. As in, 'wow, you really pear'd'? Where pear-ing was a verb? Or the act iself was pear'd, as an adjective?

...Why am I thinking so hard about this.
