Yo, it's been entirely too long since you all got a real homework assignment. Not something like those little study assignments I've been giving you. It's about time for another one of the real deals.

[But then the message stops for a few long moments. Ink drips onto the page as if he's dropped his quill. It's a while before anything more than inksplatters appears.]

Alright, that was weird! I just had like, a massive head rush or something. I don't remember coming into this room! And I don't even know whose journal this is, but I guess I got a teacher's journal by accident? I don't even know. But whatever. I hope they don't mind me using it, because I can't find my own.

This guy writes a lot of weird things.

Oh, I probably shouldn't be reading this, should I? Sorry! Please don't give me detention. I'm just kinda confused, I wasn't thinking. I'll pretend I didn't read anything.

So anyway, I've been here a few months now and weird things are still happening. Like me waking up in this room randomly, for example. Is that normal? Should I see a doctor? I know this place is magical, but still it's really freaking weird.

I should probably get out of here now that I think about it. I don't wanna be caught in some teacher's office without permission...

Also does anyone have any ink I can borrow? Because this black is really boring.

[If Murdoc didn't know better, he'd be demanding to know why he's shying away. He can vaguely sympathise with the situation, particularly since Dirk seems genuinely confused.

He sighs, scrubbing at his face with his hands and making a frustrated noise before shaking off the overwhelmingly negative feeling he can feel coming over. He should be used to this sort of thing, Hogwarts seemed to enjoy throwing a wrench in all of his works, but it always worked out.

He supposes he can use this as a chance to one up Dirk in a way he could never possibly hope to beat. He doesn't know what Murdoc was like as a child, but Murdoc could find out what Dirk was like. Or is like? Damn it all.]

So you don't remember bein' big? Of course you don't. Never mind. What're you doin' here?

[Wow. Wait to make him even more afraid. That noises that Murdoc makes is kinda terrifying at this point, and it makes him even more afraid that he's done something wrong and is about to get punished. Honestly, he has no idea what's going on and he is confused. He really hopes that he can get out of trouble or at least get this professor to stop being angry at him. Least of all because he wants to ask him questions about being an auror, and the anger is kinda preventing that.

At Murdoc's question, his brows furrow even more. What was that supposed to mean? Being big? Ugh, this just keeps getting more confusing. But then he says nevermind, and he feels whiplash because nothing makes sense. So he decides not to focus on that, and rather on trying to get out of trouble for being in here like he's afraid he is.]

I dunno, sir. I just... kinda spaced out for a sec, and then I was just... here, y'know? It doesn't make sense, and I dunno how it happened. I'm sorry, though... I really, really am. Please don't be mad! I really don't wanna get in trouble. Or get points taken away. Then everybody'd be mad at me, and I really don't want that, sir!

[He rambles when he's afraid.]

I'm not mad. If only because there's clearly somethin' wrong with you. I'm goin' to assume this head rush of yours is a symptom.

Perhaps we should stop fussin' about in a room that isn't yours and take you to see a nurse.

[He reaches out and grabs at Dirk's upper arm, tugging him out of the office and down the hall.]

So you don't remember how you got there?

[Between the mention of seeing the nurse and the way Murdoc takes him by the arm and pulls him out of the room, he's starting to get really nervous. Well, more so than he already has been. His stomach is starting to churn a little and his eyes are wide behind the shades and before he responds, he has to swallow against his suddenly dry mouth.]

Uhh- No sir, I don't. And I really, really don't think I need to see a nurse! I'm fine, it was just... I dunno, a weird head rush thing. I'm fine! I feel really, really fine. Please don't make me see the nurse!

[Nope. You aren't going anywhere. Murdoc wants to know what's going on and a nurse is the first thing he can think of. He stops walking for a moment and turns Dirk to face him so he can look at him while he talks.]

What if it happens again and you end up hurtin' yourself? Don't you feel strange at all?

[brohoof]

[But nothing is going on! He's fine, everything's fine, there is absolutely no reason at all to go see a nurse. But he doesn't try and pull out of Murdoc's grip- he knows better than that, and he'll be obedient if he has to. But that doesn't mean he isn't going to at least try and get out of going to see a nurse.]

I feel fine, sir. Really! I promise. Not strange at all. Not even a little. Can't we just, like, go to your office instead? I think that'd be way better. Please?

[Because you're Eridan's dad, the auror. He wants to know more about you! That would be so much cooler than going to see a nurse.]

[Murdoc sighs. Ideally, he'd like to take him to a nurse and have whatever the problem is be fixed straight away. Though, given the strange occurances throughout the year, he's not certain a nurse could help...]

I don't believe you, but if you're so against seein' a nurse I have no intention of forcin' you to go. I suppose if you'd like to visit my office I could keep an eye on you for a few hours. [And make sure you don't get in trouble...]

Come along then. [Now he's tugging him in the direction of his office.]
