Rune 02: Uruz
While I understand that as students you are on holiday for Easter, I would like to take this opportunity to express that you do have a small assignment due the week after we return from break.
This does not mean you can hold off on the assignment until the night you return.
For all students of my classes, prepare for me an analysis, no less than ten inches of parchment, of how you might find and use runes in Easter ceremonies. Where can you see them playing a role, and where do you think their magic might be useful in the ceremony. A piece of advice, look into the pagan celebration of Oustre if you're feeling stuck.
That is your first part of the assignment, due the first day of class after break.
The second part will involve choosing one of those elements of runic magic that you felt would be helpful during Easter, and composing research.
Not an incredibly difficult assignment for my students who have been paying attention.
Enjoy your holiday.
[Filtered to Rhys]
Are you behaving?

Are you behaving?

[Private] 2/2
Yes I am worried.
[Private]
AND WHY
is that?
[Private]
[Private]
but i'm not the one who's been messing about
WITH A MARRIED COUPLE
"always".
CURIOUS
that you're the suspicious one, my lad.
Re: [Private]
While they are married, I'm a technical third party.
I am in a way romantically involved with both of them.
But I have the freedom to date people of my own choosing as well.
Sal, Di and I have always loved one another very deeply.
They're just the ones who chose to get married.
[Private]
very bohemian.
STILL DOESN'T QUITE EXPLAIN
why you're so concerned with what i'm doing, though,
DOES IT?
if you have some people who love you so deeply.
FUNNY THING, THOUGH.
you seemed quite neglected when we first
MET.
Re: [Private]
As for the term neglected?
I wouldn't use that in regards to my sex life.
[Private]
WHY
did you say you were asexual?
I'M QUITE CURIOUS NOW.
[Private]
And I had lost interest.
And the concept of sex bored me.
[Private]
it's interesting, i suppose.
HOW PEOPLE TWIST THEIR BRAINS UP IN SUCH CURIOUS WAYS.
[Private]
[Private]
maybe you were born that way. It does seem to be a
VERY HUMAN TRAIT.
Re: [Private]
[Private]
YOUNG.
Re: [Private]
[Private]
i suppose it is.
YOU NEVER SEEMED TO MIND.
[Rhys snorted to himself, then shook his head, closing his journal and putting it aside. Maybe he was showing his age - all the professors around here were so young, except for Iroh. He had no contemporaries, no real peers that he spoke to, and while he'd always been a loner, he missed that sometimes. Polyamorous relationships. Ridiculous. He'd never understood how those couple possibly work, if it wasn't just about sex.
He'd spent too long sitting in here just writing, though - he needed to get out and do something. The library might have something of interest ... he pulled on his black and purple robes and started out for that part of the castle. It should be quiet, now, with all the children leaving ... ]
Re: [Private]
[Cyrus sighed softly, the message was short but sweet. Rhys had become a sort of friend since the both of them hooked up several weeks earlier, but that seemed to be enough to make Cyrus feel awkward now and then when they spoke. Rhys seemed to still have a fair amount of interest in the man, and he...well...He was a little uncomfortable. But not in a bad way.]
[He closed the journal and tucked it into the small side bag that he carried, standing up with the intention to head to the restricted section to pick up some of the books he needed to skim for over the holiday.]
[Private]
Ah.]
Cyrus.
Re: [Private]
[A little awkward. He wasn't expecting to have to run into Rhys until after the break. He shuffled a bit, trying to make himself look somewhat presentable, and smiled.]
Fancy running into you here.

One of my mentors books is kept in the restricted section, I need to review some of her studies.

[He smiles, rather confidently.]
Besides, some of my research is in there and I'd like to see where I need to update it.

I'll leave you to it, then, shall I?

[And now he's a little wary of the smirk...]
