Will they be giving you an artificial eye? From what I've read, they've been making amazing advances in that field, so I wouldn't be too discouraged if I were you.

It's alright.

They did, 8ut I still prefer to wear an eye patch it feels strange. I would almost prefer not to have to wear it.

I don't think I'd recommend not wearing it. I imagine it would feel strange, but you'll probably get used to it in time.
And your depth perception would definitely be much worse without it.
