In the interest of an unbiased study into muggle behaviors and cultural discrepancies, I require a ^muggleborn female student to associate with me or at the very least permit me to engage in observational behavior including but not limited to tailing, watching from the shadows, and keeping close records on all activities, correspondence, and so on. Do not waste my time if you are already well aware that you are annoying and generally distasteful.

Please respond to this message with your interest. I will select the best candidate once all volunteers have come forward.

Following someone around and watching every single thing they do? Sounds pretty much like what a stalker does. I suppose if you're asking for permission it's not exactly the same though.

I'm not obsessed with any one person--I'm "stalking" the entire school as it were.

Then you're stalking the entire school. It's still stalking whether it's one person or a group and still equally as dodgy. Still, good on you for asking first. You might actually get into serious trouble if you got caught spying on a girl.

Five years of observation have shown women are very private and paranoid specimens. Stalker is bad enough--no need to arbitrarily tag on other terms to describe perverts who get off on that sort of thing.

I wouldn't say paranoid, but most girls seem to prefer keeping stuff to themselves. From the looks of it though, you've already got a few interested participants, so good luck with it.

I've never asked for them before. Generally I prefer my observations to go undetected.

No, I make notes on what behaviors are different from what is observed in full blood witches. I find observing an animal in captivity lends a great deal of inference to categorizing their behaviors in the wild.

I'm saying that in terms of observation, the same sorts of procedures need be followed. If I inject my own understanding into muggles, I fail to understand what truly makes one a muggle--outside the absence of magic. Culture must be experienced and taken in, not inferred through bias.

Listen, I might know a guy who's good at describing things. He's got a good memory and a knack for writing stuff out. Probably won't take too kindly to you following him around, but he's friendly enough and I don't think he'll mind spending an hour or two talking about Muggle stuff.
