Valentine's Day is coming up in a few weeks, so I feel like it's worth asking some romance related questions. Mostly, I ask now because I'm sure I'll be busy later. I'm mostly curious.

Do you believe in love at first sight or true love? I'm not going to ridicule your answer, that would hardly be professional. Me? I can't believe such sentiments, as nice as they sound. [She'd love to believe that, but Rose was much too cynical for such rubbish. There's a lot of reasons as to why, but she isn't going to talk about those. Ever.]

If you're with someone and expecting them to do something for the occasion, what would you be expecting? I suppose I'm asking what your ideal would be. Just chocolate and flowers or the whole ten yards?

Not that I particularly care. I don't exactly make myself someone you'd want to share that kind of feelings with.

I think love at first sight is just attraction. You can be attracted to someone the minute you look at them and then discover what a pill they are later.
I do believe there's someone out there for everyone. I guess you could call that True Love.

If I had someone for Valentines I'd want to make the day special for them for sure. I'd probably take them out for a nice dinner and maybe write a song and sing it for them.

That's a rather thoughtful way to look at love at first sight. So you don't imagine that maybe something just clicks when you see a person for the first time?
I suppose that is true.

I'm sure whoever has the luck of snagging you will be rather lucky. Such a romantic way to spend a night.

Well, I've clicked with a few people on sight in a "They look interesting" kind of way but it took getting to know them better to know in what way we click. Several have ended up as just good friends or if we did date, the relationship just fizzled after a while.

I won't lie, I once fell pretty hard for someone who put on a good face at the start of the relationship but turned out to be a lying and manipulative person. She hid it very well for a while but someone can only hide their nature for so long I suppose.

Well, I'm still looking for someone to spoil. The way I see it if you like someone why wouldn't you want to do nice things for them and treat them well?
I'll never understand how some people put up with their partners treating them like crap.

Love is blind is a very accurate mention, right?
Sometimes people don't realize it and stick to it even though it hurts them. But when you're in love, you want to be with them regardless if they hurt you.
I don't understand it myself, but I can't really say by experience. I've never been stuck in that kind of situation.

Love is blind, deaf and dumb. People do a lot of stupid things when they're supposedly in love and sometimes reason can go out the door when your hormones are raging.

I hope this doesn't come off wrong but I'm glad you've never had to go through anything like that. It always sucks to go through even if it's for the better in the long run.

It doesn't come off wrong. I would hate to lose my senses for something like love, but I can also see why people would do it.

Well, kind of. Personal experiences don't really give me a personal understanding, but it's painted so nicely that I can only guess who nice it may be. I am fond of my senses though, so perhaps losing logical reasoning for it is something I'd rather hate. You can't really guess until it happens. I find this to be unfortunate.

Whether or not it happens, it's shallow as hell to assume that one look can give you everything you need to know to fall in love with a person.

I can understand that. I would probably say the same thing if I were the one answering.

We'd merely be exchanging the same things. We could do that easily on a day that isn't meant for couples.

It may make me a touch childish but i do believe in such things on occasion.
I think it really does depend on the situation though. And its less love at first sight i suppose and more a sudden and sometimes violent bond with a person that later becomes love.
Because really it is sort of silly to run headfirst into something like romance.
Haha thats probably the only thing id say that for. Otherwise im just gungho lets go straight for the gold!

Secondarily i dont believe i qualify for this question.
Nevermind that i wouldnt have the faintest of an idea as to what one should expect from a sweetheart for this sort of thing. It all seems a bit... trivial.

Its probably about the only form of reckless behavior that i dont support.
But yes it is done quite often in my experience. And generally ends badly.
Ah... I guess you could say as much yes.

It just seems unfair to expect a certain outcome out of someone.
No one can really predict the future and personally if im going to spend time with someone im much happier to just enjoy their company than to expect something to happen in a certain way.

I suppose that is true. You don't have something that really tickles your fantasy? Say, they take you to your favorite restaurant or buy you a favorite of some kind.

And hell it may not be the smartest course of action but...
You know if two people are really that gungho into each other i say what the hay let them have their reckless courtship.

Well everybody has their likes and dislikes naturally!
Suppose if i absolutely had to choose it would probably involve some form of a moviegoing and a simple dinner. Nothing fancy im not really big on fancy schpiels. But a movie enjoyed by both to follow a good meal seems like an enjoyable time to me.
Of course thats also my generalized idea of a good evening spent with friends so perhaps im not wellsuited to make decisions for this romantic mumbojumbo.
