Bruising is essentially a very mild case of internal bleeding. If you apply ice, it should restrict the bloodflow in the immediate area.

Other than the bruising, how have you been enjoying the holidays?

It's been bloody hellish. Father is away and my brothers are taking the opportunity to make my life a nightmare.

Almost as if they're trying to make up for the fact that they won't be able to come after me at school next semester.

The next time they attack you, try jabbing them in the solar plexus. That should incapacitate them long enough for you to run away.
