Good afternoon everyone.

I know we've had a bit of a rocky summer holiday, but I'd just like slip a gentle reminder that there is a quiz for Defence against the Dark Arts students in week 2 of your semester. If you haven't started studying, now might be a good time to open your books.

Homework aside, I'm sure some of you have unanswered questions regarding the food fight that got out of hand during summer camp. Per investigations, it's been discovered that someone cast a hex on certain students that caused the irrational behaviour. The Ministry are pursuing leads and the councillors of the camp are being questioned, but I'd just like to take this opportunity to assure all of you that no there will be no disciplinary action for those who had been caught firing jinxes.

I look forward to meeting all of you when school starts.

Out of curiosity, do you know which hex was cast, or is that still under investigation?

Official investigations are still underway. The Ministry of Magic has yet to come to conclusion as to the nature of the hex.

Whatever it was, it must have been very powerful, judging by how many people it seems to have affected. I can't think of what it might have been, but I'll do some reading on hexes when I next have the chance.

So, this hex... There anything we students can do? Anything we should be "keeping an eye out" for, so to speak? ...Not that that's an appropriate turn of phrase in my case, haha! But, yeah, there anything we should be on the lookout for?

Students should be vigilant; if something seems out of place or if someone is acting strangely, they should report it to a responsible adult within the vicinity. Don't try and deal with it yourself, because you don't know the strength of the spell; you could end up hurting yourself and your friends too.

According to the Healers at St.Mungo's, no, so students don't have to worry about any side-effects or potential relapses.

The students went on a camp organized by the school when some students suddenly started firing jinxes at everyone in the middle of a food fight. A few students were injured and had to be admitted to St. Mungo's hospital for treatment.

The Ministry is currently investigating the incident. They're suspecting a spell was cast on the students, but the culprit and the spell cast has yet to be determined.

It was close enough. According to the Ministry findings, the spell was somewhat similar to the Imperius curse; the affected students' actions were definitely influenced by the spell.
