It has come to the Ministry's, and therefore my, attention that Hogwarts is in need of some... Assistance. Given the Headmaster's unfortunate inability to keep things under control at camp and even now under his very own roof, the Ministry has seen fit to appoint me High Inquisitor.

I can assure you that this is a very good thing, despite what you may be thinking and on behalf of the Ministry I would like to formally apologize for the events at camp. It is unfortunate that his carelessness would result in such an unfortunate occurrence. I can assure you that while I'm here, none of you will get so out of control.

You may have heard that it was dark magic responsible, but I can promise you that this was a lie made up only to justify a few rowdy teenagers. This will not be tolerated while I'm here, believe me. Everyone's safety is of my utmost concern, and it's up to me to prune the thorny hedges and keep everything nice and orderly.

With that said, I do not tolerate disobedience of any kind, and if I catch any kind of behaviour like what was displayed at camp, the consequences will be severe. This is the only warning I am going to give anyone. I fully expect to get along with every student here, however, so do not let my faith go unrewarded.

Finally, along with my position as High Inquisitor, I have also been appointed Herbology Professor. But considering the importance of the position, it would be best for you to refer to me as Inquisitor Snow rather than Professor.

They can take responsibility, but the way you speak of it makes it seem as though that you do not believe in forgiveness. If I were to get out of hand, I would like to claim responsibility, but I would also hope to achieve forgiveness and redemption. One does not grow otherwise.

I did not mean outside of class. I am perfectly fine with calling you Inquisitor Snow while outside of class in specific. But while you are teaching, being a professor should take precedence over being Inquisitor. I always found the professors to be an amazing set to staff, because they understand how to treat students as equal while still aiding them in learning, but still know when to use authority when need be.

I don't see what the problem is. I am merely making a point. He is free to have conflicting opinions, but he is obviously using his authority against us and not as a tool to further us as students.
Unless he is easily offended by pretty words, I have yet to openly insult him.

He doesn't have to do anything. He can just stop treating us like actual people. That's dehumanizing enough as is. Not that it matters since he already seems to be doing that with the entire student populace who isn't willing to lick the dirt of his shoes.
I'm not playing along. I'll continue to be a good student, but the point of a school setting is being able to speak my mind. He's already trying to silence us. I don't know why he would, but it just makes it even more suspicious. If there wasn't a good reason, I highly doubt that this would be happening at all. Why would he be so adamant about refuting claims by students and even teachers? This entire conduct is just leaving a terrible taste in my mouth.

I don't care about if he's an asshole or if he could even be the scum of the Earth. I want to be able to freely speak my mind. If my opinion is wrong, I will apologize and it'll be another chapter in my book in which I grow. If we cannot make a compromise, than we will agree to disagree. Why is it suddenly black and white?

I don't even know where this revenge talk came from. I'm not interested in enacting revenge unless he's done something to deserve it.
It's like you're expecting me to start some club or army to go against his oppression or something. Ah yes, we will meet once a week in a secret place in which no one will know. We will learn what he could not learn under his watchful eye.

I never meant to imply that they were never going to get forgiveness. They will, but only when they come forward and admit to being in the wrong rather than hiding behind the excuse of dark magic.

I'm sorry you feel that way Miss Lalonde, but I still maintain the stance that Inquisitor takes precedence over Professor. If you do not call me Inquisitor at all times, I will be forced to take away points and give you detention.

But I also feel like you are belittling me right now. This feels less like a healthy debate and more like I'm being told off as a child whom just didn't want to listen. I understand the importance of your title, but I don't understand why trying to see you as a man of knowledge instead means that I will lose points and given detention over something like a title. I have no intention of invalidating you as an Inquisitor, but to congratulate on being able to be a man to give us knowledge.

I am honestly uncomfortable in approaching you in general as I feel like the only thing that matters is authority. I am here for knowledge, not to feel like I've been boxed into a corner over a name.

I apologize, Miss Lalonde. I never intended to sound like I was belittling you or trying to make myself seem unapproachable. My mission, first and foremost, is the safety and order of this castle and it's students. I came expecting chaos and I have received nothing but from most students. Perhaps I treated those like you unfairly.

I do not want us to be enemies, Miss Lalonde. In fact, I would like for us to be able to be friends.

However, given that I expect others to refer to me as Inquisitor, it would look bad on me if I were to let you call me Professor in class when everyone else won't. Consider my position and how delicate the situation is. I need respect in order for this to work out and I need cooperation.

I will admit that this year has started off quite rocky. It seems like a lot of students are very upset at the moment, and being told punishment for certain actions right on the get go and called rowdy doesn't help with the nerves. I apologize for coming off irritable at the beginning. My peers are my peers, after all.
It is true that we do not take to authority too well at our age, but perhaps we can try to be more accepting of it? It would help if you could try to be more approachable, no offense to you. I just feel like that none of us are taking this too well, and by asserting yourself, it is leaving a negative impact, because we feel threatened. At least, that was how I felt.
