You were all fools for being against him. Now what’s going to happen to us? We’ll die off. He had the right idea, but would anyone actually listen?

My Master... he says that Dark Lord will be back. And when he does, I hope none of you expect forgiveness. What we’re- you’re becoming is sick. All a bunch of Muggle-sympathising idiots!

We are the future, not them. And if we don’t do something then they’ll end up being the end of us.

I know attempting to persuade you otherwise would serve no purpose, so I shan't attempt it. Additionally, I doubt my family situation is of any interest to you, but I feel I should clear up a small misunderstanding:

Your choice to air your views in this way is curious to me, as it achieves very little except to brew consternation - and consternation does not seem like a particularly constructive thing for anyone's purposes.

You are smart enough to deduce that few people would agree with you here, and that there may be negative consequences. After all, it was and still remains one of the main sites of resistance against You-Know-Who. It takes great courage or great anger to push peers away with such divisive beliefs. Yes, your opponents are equally as stubborn, but your persistence shows a great strength of character or recklessness, especially since they have a whole school behind them and you have only the faith that someone will return from beyond the grave.

I mean no offense, though you probably don't appreciate this analysis.

Oops, you caught me. I'm just a poor misguided little third year trying so very hard to be smart and analytical. I'm only trying to understand, don't you appreciate that?

Thank you for clarifying, though - I am surprised that your intentions are so entirely pedestrian. Still, I suppose they are simple but effective. Cause conflict, drive fear into people, etc. I appreciate that.

I'd like to ask you why you're so certain about His return, however. I've not seen anything to indicate it - unless you are privy to certain inside information?

Perhaps not, though if presented with logical evidence that Dumbledore was dead, I might believe it. Whether I believe in the method claimed by the media is a secondary part of the equation. Questions would need to be answered, but I would likely still harbour some doubt of his continued existence if he abandoned this school in such a sudden way; especially in a time of need.

Essentially, given his sudden disappearance and lack of communication, have you no niggling doubt behind it all that he may have either abandoned you or been killed? Perhaps the Ministry is hiding a secret weapon and attempting to pass it off as a child. After all, I don't quite understand what the Dark Lord intends to achieve by hiding so thoroughly from his own followers and the rest of the world at this point in time, given his power even at the time of the incident. If you have heard from him, it would explain your steadfast loyalty, but otherwise, how has he been silenced? Would that have been the fault of a child? I find it just as implausible.
