I'm can't wait for school to start again. When I'm home, Mother worries so much, even though I tell her I've been perfectly safe at school. I know she means well, of course, but I'm getting bored.

I was wondering if anyone would like me to make them something! That would be a nice way to pass time. I draw and make candles and pottery and knit and sew and, well, all sorts of things!

i do! or i did mamma doesnt do it much during the summer months because it gets so hot in the kitchen as it is but before i started school i would help her with it wed make a whole bunch because some of it we sell in the gift shop and some we saved for the house

although only me and mamma use it my brothers think it smells girly but i like it

very carefully theres a lot of chances where you can burn yourself with the lye and the oils or inhale fumes so im sort of not surprised your mamma wouldnt let you do it if shes over protective like that i know i burnt myself with lye a lot before i got good at handling it

it also smells really really bad at first

but first you add lye to water (its important to do it that way, too, or it kind of explodes because it gets really hot really fast)
then you heat up your oil (mamma uses olive oil and coconut oil) to about 36c and when the oil and lye are the same temperature, you pour them together
you can add fragrence oils and stuff at this point so do that if you want
and then wait for 24 hours until it cools
and then you have soap!

I didn't have much of a choice. Dad and Mum are working extra shifts, and someone needs to keep an eye out on the twins.
