[You may want to cover your ears for this one, folks. Professor Constance Peixes is angry. She is very angry. She hasn't sent a Howler, but this might as well be one going out to the entire faculty and student body.]

I am absolutely appalled at the degree of inappropriate subject matter that our students are currently discussing in their journals. You should all be ashamed of yourselves, and particularly so for discussing it with incoming first-years. Mr. Makara and Mr. Kishitani, you both have a month's detention, beginning on the first day of fall term. Mr. Makara, for writing the entry in question, and Mr. Kishitani, for encouraging the discussion, particularly among the younger students.

What in Merlin's name were you thinking? This isn't a 'friendly discussion about biology', this was getting students to discuss matters of a highly personal and private nature! And at the ages of eleven, twelve, and thirteen!

AND MY DAUGHTER AMONG THOSE STUDENTS!

You continued arguing about it being perfectly all right to discuss touching oneself after some of the younger girls said they weren't comfortable with it! They were right to think that their mothers wouldn't want to see them in the middle of a discussion like that, because they don't!

To the rest of you: I highly recommend you think before you write a journal entry discussing a topic of a sexual nature, and frankly, I discourage you from doing so.

That's not what I meant. [He sighs, being just a tad dramatic. He's already been scolded for the way he's yelled at Gamzee, so he supposes now it's time to stop yelling at a brick wall and start considering taking some sort of a professional approach to this.]

I want to see you in my office when school begins again. It won't be a months worth of detention, if you're lucky.

Uh, you might have to ask Professor Peixes about that, 'cause I already got to be doing detentions with her, and I don't know how long that'll take. But I guess whatever extra time I'll be having, I can be serving detention with you, too. [just sort of sounds ... sad. He supposes he deserves this for being gay and eyeballing Murdoc's son.]

[pauses, and in a very small voice] I really am sorry, for. For being that way.

Whatever it was, wasn't appropriate. If you want to flatter him, you should compliment his personality, not his rear.

An' he's never seemed particularly interested in girls before, I might add. I assumed he was too young to be makin' choices.

Well, you certainly seem to hold him in high favours. He's too young to know what he wants. He has a hard time pickin' between puddin' flavours.

[Murdoc, you have clearly not heard the bragging Eridan does. Gamzee knows a lot of it is bullshit, but he does tend to make stuff up about girls, and not guys. Of course, it never would occur to Gamzee that there could be more than one reason for that.]

I think he deserves to be having my high favors. And he knows a lot of sh- stuff. I'm thinking you should all be pretty proud of him.

[He tunes most of it out as white noise. Or rather, he doesn't take it as gold considering he does it himself. He'd been so adament in his sexuality because it was what was expected of him, but the truth was that he just didn't care. Any attention was good attention and attraction was valuable regardless of gender. He didn't want to put Eridan through the pressure of having to fit a standard, but he seemed to be creating new expectations for him to live up to every day. Did Eridan think he would be mad if he was gay? He certainly hoped not.]

I am proud of him. Very proud.

[Gamzee doesn't say anything in response to that, though on the other end of the journal he's smiling a bit wistfully. It's good Eridan's da is proud of him, though, and he hopes Eridan knows that, because sometimes his roommate talks like he doesn't. Gamzee doesn't really understand the way normal families work, but he's seen enough TV and movies to know that parents are supposed to be proud of their kids, it means good things.]
