On the internet a meme is parodied and repeated to the point where its original meaning is lost. If people start being stripped of library privileges, it's like I accidentally started something.

I don't think your situation is anything like that. They were probably intending for library bans to become a form of punishment anyway. You just happened to be the first person to encounter them, so I wouldn't blame myself if I were you.

Well he can't take Hogsmeade from me just yet, so I guess library rights were the next best thing considering I spend a lot of time in there. Still, I wouldn't blame people if they started blaming me. I should've stepped back before I did.

If that's the case, he'll probably just ban the rest of us from Hogsmeade and nobody would think to associate that with you.
In any case, I have no idea of what it is that you did, but I do think that Professor Snow may return your library privileges if you're polite enough to him.
