Journal Entry #9

Speaking hypothetically: If the student body does end up losing their library privileges, would that give us leave to explore alternative research methods?

Students would only lose access to books that involves Dark Magic. So it would be harder to get something from the restricted section. Hypothetically speaking that is.

Shinra, you are courting trouble.

Who said we were losing our library privileges? What a ridiculous concept. You should hypothetically stop worrying about that rubbish.

Would there be a reason for this hypothetical?

It's not surprising at all. Most people are idiots, therefore they have a short-sighted and moronic view of the vital importance of research. Was there someone in particular you were thinking of, though?
wwistful: (Uh. Hello.)

[personal profile] wwistful 2012-11-12 01:34 pm (UTC)(link)
If students were to hypothetically lose the privilege through misbehaviour I do not imagine those punishing them would sympathise with them.

My suggestion would be to work on getting them back, if it were indeed the result of hypothetical student shenanigans.

Things are quite touchy at the moment, and not hypothetically.

Just a warning.

It's nothing.

All right. [Lyrl has no idea what to do with appreciation though.]

There's just no reason for you to get into trouble over nothing.

Kishitani, you're making the assumption that stupid people actually have the common sense to know they're stupid. Do you realize, there are people in America who think that global warming is a political conspiracy? Idiots are experts at keeping themselves in the dark as to just how moronic they really are.

I'm not surprised about Pines.

If you lose access to the library, any alternative research method must be approved by me.

I'm like a meme now or something, aren't I?
mysterytwin: (so unsure)

[personal profile] mysterytwin 2012-11-15 05:54 am (UTC)(link)
Memetic mutation.

On the internet a meme is parodied and repeated to the point where its original meaning is lost. If people start being stripped of library privileges, it's like I accidentally started something.
mysterytwin: (oh)

[personal profile] mysterytwin 2012-11-15 06:02 am (UTC)(link)
Pretty much. People have described it as a cultural thing.

Well he can't take Hogsmeade from me just yet, so I guess library rights were the next best thing considering I spend a lot of time in there. Still, I wouldn't blame people if they started blaming me. I should've stepped back before I did.

What do you mean by alternative research methods anyways?
wwistful: (Your stupidity pains me)

[personal profile] wwistful 2012-11-17 02:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Good behaviour is your greatest weapon in a situation like this.

Though I trust that you of all people are able to behave properly around your professors and the staff.

All right. I suppose that would be mutually beneficial.

Have you ever read Frankenstein? I suppose not, as you're pureblood. It's a novel that makes an excellent point. The mob, the vast majority of idiots that live in this world, will try and stamp out anything they don't understand. And people like you and I will always think in ways they can't comprehend. They won't be inspired, they'll look for ways to thwart us and object at every turn. You'll have to be prepared for that, it's the way of the world.

And I don't think he is, but I don't think he's all that clever, either. Certainly not enough to avoid getting caught.
wwistful: (shut your whore mouth)

[personal profile] wwistful 2012-11-20 11:18 am (UTC)(link)
Of course. I'm glad, Mr. Kishitani.
itsintheblood: (Tess >> Let's make a deal)

[personal profile] itsintheblood 2012-11-21 06:16 am (UTC)(link)
No, you would be able to borrow something, but there would be follow up with the teachers that assigned the project and one of us may need to be there when you take it.
pomodoroo: (confused • wondering)

[personal profile] pomodoroo 2012-11-23 10:45 pm (UTC)(link)
I was just wondering since library research has never been my thing, it's boring as hell!

I guess if you did field shit though you'd be watched like a hawk.
itsintheblood: (Tess >> Are you done?)

[personal profile] itsintheblood 2012-11-26 10:01 am (UTC)(link)
That's correct.
