Journal Entry #9
Speaking hypothetically: If the student body does end up losing their library privileges, would that give us leave to explore alternative research methods?

If that were to be the case, would it be completely impossible for one to borrow something from the restricted section, or would the process just involve more questions?

[private]
This is only a hypothetical question.
Re: [private]
Just a warning.
Re: [private]
Maybe they are. Things do seem to get rather touchy after unusual incidents, don't they.
Thank-you for the warning, Lyrl. Upon reflection, you do make a very good point.
Re: [private]

It was very considerate of you and I do appreciate it.
Re: [private]
There's just no reason for you to get into trouble over nothing.
[private]
With that in mind, I'll be sure to warn you if you're ever about to do anything that might court trouble.

[Filtered to Herbert]
I find that a surprising number of people can be very unsympathetic when it comes to research.

And I'm not entirely sure of what happened, but I think Pines may have been cut off from the library.
[Private filter]
I'm not surprised about Pines.
[Private filter]
You're not? He never struck me as being particularly disruptive.

And I don't think he is, but I don't think he's all that clever, either. Certainly not enough to avoid getting caught.

My suggestion would be to work on getting them back, if it were indeed the result of hypothetical student shenanigans.

I'll take it into consideration if this hypothetical situation becomes reality.

Though I trust that you of all people are able to behave properly around your professors and the staff.

surprisedglad you feel that way, Professor Donoghue.I'll be sure to endeavour to be as respectful as possible in future.

Would that apply to any alternative research methods or only the ones that relate to Herbology?

On the internet a meme is parodied and repeated to the point where its original meaning is lost. If people start being stripped of library privileges, it's like I accidentally started something.

I don't think your situation is anything like that. They were probably intending for library bans to become a form of punishment anyway. You just happened to be the first person to encounter them, so I wouldn't blame myself if I were you.

Well he can't take Hogsmeade from me just yet, so I guess library rights were the next best thing considering I spend a lot of time in there. Still, I wouldn't blame people if they started blaming me. I should've stepped back before I did.

In any case, I have no idea of what it is that you did, but I do think that Professor Snow may return your library privileges if you're polite enough to him.

Why do you ask? Are you interested in taking part, Vargas?

I guess if you did field shit though you'd be watched like a hawk.

And thank you for pointing that out! I'll definitely take it into consideration.
