Despite its persistently dusty appearance, returning to Hogwarts always has its advantages.

During our vacation, Liz dragged me to see a muggle movie named Midnight: Broken Dawn. Frankly I am appalled at how muggles view Vampires and Werewolves. How could a vampire travel to Brazil? This is just illogical to me.

And when I asked Liz to explain, she told me that they sparkled in the sunlight, but I cannot fathom why this would be the case.

I am left to presume this is another case of muggle movies adapting novels poorly.

Actually that's a case of films adapting a terrible novel for exactly what it is.

You're familiar with the original novel?

I...certainly hope that isn't a popular view of vampires.

...There's a genre called "paranormal romance."

I'll just let you draw your own conclusions.

I suppose I have heard of similar themes in some books, but nothing...quite like that.

Oh, god. Don't even get me started on those... things. I can't believe you sat through the whole thing!

I attempted to leave at some point, but Liz hit me and refused to make it symmetrical until the movie had concluded.

Aren't there some things worse than your symmetry addiction? Like that? I don't think anything could force me to sit through that movie!

In Brazil, vampires are different... Jararacas, they are called, but they do not drink blood.

The Lobisomen, they are a bit more like vampires in some legends, although they are also sometimes werewolves.

Of course, I haven't seen either like I've seen a flobberworm.

Ah, it wasn't the presence of vampires that I found perplexing so much as the fact that they were walking around in daylight.

They sound very stylish!

I wasn't focused on what they were wearing.

But if they sparkled, it must have been hard to miss! Mother never mentioned that to me.
