I understand that it might be a little difficult to handle given that it's only the first week back, but I can't be the only one appalled by the behaviour of the students, can I?
Honestly. It's gotten to the point where detention has become a joke and removing points is a formality. I actually have no idea how I'm meant to deal with the amount of misbehaviour going on when they won't listen to a word I say!A student went so far as to
[Actually. He doesn't really want to announce that.]
It's a little difficult to comprehend. Is there any advice anybody can give me, because I am at a loss here. I think perhaps it's time for a discussion amongst ourselves before things get even more out of hand.
We're much stronger as team than we are individually, in any case.

I'd say bar them from everything they would consider fun within the school, but who knows where that would lead. But it's a start. Kicking them off the Quidditch team, barring them from the pitch on game day, and putting them in the dungeons on Hogsmeade weekends?
no subject
I only worry that they've developed some sort of nonchalance toward anything we do.

DOING IN DETENTION, DONOGHUE?
sometimes one must get creative.
LEVERS.
those sorts of things need to be tailored to a child specifically.

What do you think I do, Rhydderch? I tell them why they're there, have them write lines and then make them clean or some other mindless task.
It's a lot harder with some students than it is with others.

IT HARDLY DRIVES YOUR POINT HOME, DOES IT?
the point is to make them think
NOT ENGAGE IN MINDLESS BUSYWORK.

Tell me, Sir, What would you reccomend?

Though while I do agree that the students are horribly disrespectful, I'm not sure what else we can do that won't get us in trouble.
Maybe detentions should be harsher. Make them go clean the bathrooms with that lizard ghost at their side.

It's not important. Though I do have a personal question.

I'm guessing the diplomatic approach hasn't worked? Sometimes students just want some attention from their peers and teachers.
no subject
I'm afraid you'll have to elaborate upon that.

Well I haven't had much interaction with teenagers before this, but occasionally at the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, we'd get the occasional wizard who think Muggle baiting is a great way of impressing their friends. Or sometimes they'd just do it because they find it fun to watch Muggles confused about missing keys and steps. They like getting a rise out of them.
no subject
It's true in some cases, yes. Though some of my experiences have been with students who were alone with me, So...Unless it was just to get a rise out of me....
Hm.
How would you deal with those people?

Nor can he turn into an idiotic pile of goo every time Murdoc talks. No, he realizes that he has to suck it up and deal. Besides, it's easier to come off like normal in writing anyway. Murdoc doesn't have to know he's feeling stupid or at all anxious.]
Have you thought about dropping the E bomb?
And no I don't mean enema.
Also call me nosy and all, but hey, what's that scribbled outy bit?
no subject
What do they care? They're only at school because they ought to be.

It's nothing. Really. Nothing.

Heh, yeah, true. But goddamn, there's gotta be something we can do. Because you're right, these bitches are going cray. Jaeger practically flirted with me and then told me how he's gonna splooge or something. It was creepy as fuck.
[Filteeeer]
That doesn't sound like nothing.
no subject
somewhat horrifying. Are you alright?
Yes, Jaeger in particular is a problem. I'm not particularly creative when it comes to this sort of thing.
