Since it seems everyone feels the need to prattle on about Valentine's Day and other such nonsense, I assume that means we have a lot of free time on our hands. That being the case, I'm sure none of you will have any problem if I decide to change up your essay assignments a bit. First- through Third-years, I've decided you need to include a full bibliography including at least three sources that aren't your textbook or required reading. Fourth- through Seventh-years, let's make those essays six pages instead of four. I expect everything to be on my desk by next Wednesday the 8th.

WELL, you could prepare for a life all aloney on your owney and become a Buddhist monk, or if you look naff in orange you could meet one there! It will be fabby and marvy and also double cool with knobs on.

And because we know that some of you spend all of your days doing daft things like Arithmancy homework and have never used your gobs for anything other than shoveling food in them, we have provided a scale for you to research beforehand:

I'm not certain if anyone has noticed yet, but while the snow has become a bit unruly lately it still has a bit of an aversion to fire and light.

So, if you like, I've got some bluebell flames in jars here for you to carry around. For those that haven't studied it in my class yet, bluebell flames are perfectly harmless, they just give off light and warmth. For students that have and would rather not take a jar from me, well, you can produce one yourself if you like. Maybe I'll give you extra credit. ♥

I owled my Mother as soon as I heard about this whole Unforgivable curse issue. I don't know which one was used, but they're all the same. Yeah they let Aurors use them during the war, but students aren't Aurors.

To whomever cast the curse, way to ruin the weekend. I hope they give you the Dementors Kiss in Azkaban.

Students and staff, I regret to inform you that we have a serious predicament on our hands.

I recieved word from the Ministry today that there has been a report of the use of an Unforgivable Curse by a minor, within the Hogwarts grounds.

While we do not yet know the identity of the individual that cast the curse, I can assure you that we will be doing everything we can to discover them, and anyone who may have had a hand in the affair. The safety of my students is my utmost concern.

Until the culprit or culprits are caught, I must insist that students take great care in the corridors. You shall be accompanied to and from classes by your professors, and I would ask that any free time is spent in your respective common rooms, rather than roaming the castle. Prefects, I must ask you your cooperation as well, to see that these rules are upheld.

I am truly sorry that such a thing should happen during what should be a time of peace and celebration.

I would like to request all staff members meet in my office at your earliest convenience.

I saw people looking at Galen, but come on. They would've said if somebody died. That means it was the Imperius Curse or the Cruciatus Curse. And being manipulative and torturing people are Azula's specialties.

I would just like to let you all know that I am going to do everything within my power to make sure you are all safe. If any of you would like to talk privately, I am here. I know this is a difficult and scary time, and some tea and talking is a great way to calm the nerves.

Additionally, and this is nothing but a personal favour to me, and not an official rule, but... I would like to ask that until this issue is resolved and the culprit is caught, please do not hide all of your conversations over the journals with a privacy spell. When everyone is hiding things from us Professors, it looks very suspicious! And it ultimately makes it all the harder to track the person responsible down.

Obviously this is not mandatory, but it would help very much.

Azula, if you would be so kind to meet me in my office for bit of tea, I would be delighted.

I think you're all being ridiculous, not to mention overreacting and making a big deal over nothing. It makes all of you look pathetic.

2 Sad, Sad Stories

Oh yes oh yes, even when the world is reduced to a charred husk and the society of man lies in crumbled oblivion, I maintain that the rumor mill will somehow STILL be chugging along splendidly! Perhaps gossip is its own sentient species and we thrive together in symbiosis! Which came first: the human being or the gossip?!

Let's take this current situation for example. I'm sure the Ministry and our esteemed faculty would like to keep this mystery fairly quiet until it is fully solved, yet already I know that some people have been busy little bees, humming away like mad! People far, far outside the ministry know.

How am I so sure? Why, from the owl I just received from a family member congratulating me for performing an Unforgivable. Now, what were the exact words?? AH, YES - "finally coming to [my] senses, better late than never"!!

If they couldn't get me to cast those spells during the war, why would I now?
