[ooc: turn in homework over here.]

Please pardon me being a bit late with these assignments. Even though it doesn't matter what you think, as long as you do them, really.

First years, we're going to cover the most basic of spells in class, but don't assume that means the spells are unimportant. For your first assignment, there's no written work, but I want you all to perfect the hand motions we covered in class. In case you haven't gathered, gestures can be just as important as pronunciation.

Second years - 18 centimeters on "practical" spells, or ones you can use as part of your daily routine.

We're going to be covering cheering charms and other mood-altering charms in third year classes, so from third years I want 20 centimeters detailing when it is proper to use a spell to change someones mood. The more examples the better.

Fourth years, I want you to explain why being specific is essential to proper casting of the spell "Accio". If you're confused, feel free to consult Professor Strider.

With OWLs coming up, I'm sure those of you in fifth year are expecting difficult classes. Good. I want at least 30 centimeters on how charms help with other subjects you are currently taking. If you're not sure where charms come into play with your other classes, I'm concerned. For those of you truly needing a hint, Defense Against the Dark Arts is the first class that comes to mind where charms are used often.

Six and seventh years, congratulations on making the decision to stay in my class. Six years, we'll be going over spell theory as well as the history of spells. I want 10 centimeters minimum detailing the history of a spell of your choosing, which means I want to see who created, where and why was it first used, and whether or not the spells purpose has changed over the years. For seventh year, we'll be going over the theories of spell creation. Another 10 centimeter minimum, but this time on what sort of spell you, personally, would create, and why. As spell creation can be extremely dangerous, I will advise against actually trying to create one. If you die, the blame will fall on me.

I except all assignments to be turned in promptly. If you have any questions, please ask me and don't just sit around and expect for the answers to appear out of thin air, or turn in mediocre work.

[The next part is filtered to just Murdoc.]

Are you ready for our match? It's coming up rather quickly.

Am I the only one that questions what people were thinking as they made the first wands? Or Brooms? Or anything else for that matter? Who just woke up one morning and went "Wow, I think creating a wand would be a mighty fine thing to do?"

I mean, I guess that question kind of goes for any sort of invention, huh? I don't think I want to know what the first guy that discovered milk was thinking. This would be a thing I'd think about researching but I really don't want to end up thoroughly squicked out.

Are these seriously things no one thinks about?
